Holidays for disabled people, just like any holiday for able-bodied people, should be about enjoyment. However, there are more things to take into account when planning that will be specific to the person or people booking. Holidays for disabled people can fall into two categories, those simply arranged by individuals or those organised by disabled groups. Both are important and allow disabled people more freedom and the chance to see different places or countries. Both will be about easy access and usability of attractions and “must see” sights. The accommodation type of any holiday for a disabled person will also be vital in terms of actual room. Therefore steps, lifts or ramps, not to mention important factors such as separate shower versus shower/bath combinations are important.
